Dr. Iyappan Ponnuswamy is a highly accomplished Chief Radiologist with expertise in diagnostic imaging and interventional radiology, blending academic, clinical, and military experience. He served with distinction in the Indian Navy as a Surgeon Lieutenant Commander, managing critical medical roles before transitioning into advanced radiology practice. Trained at Seoul National University Hospital and Yonsei University Severance Hospital, South Korea, he developed deep expertise in interventional radiology and vascular imaging.

His clinical practice covers a broad spectrum, from oncological imaging and interventional cancer care to complex vascular procedures such as embolisation, biliary interventions, and advanced image-guided therapies. A fellow of the Royal College of Radiologists (FRCR, UK) and recipient of the Prof. Arthur Daniel Gold Medal in Radiodiagnosis (2010), he is widely recognized for his academic and professional excellence.
