About Dr. T S Bala Shanmugam
Dr. T S Bala Shanmugam is the HOD & Senior Consultant of Minimally Invasive Bariatric & GI Surgery at Gleneagles Global Health City, Chennai. He has over 30 years of surgical experience, including more than 20 years performing advanced laparoscopic surgeries. He completed his MBBS from Sri Ramachandra Medical College, Chennai, and MS (General Surgery) from Kasturba Medical College, Mangalore, followed by FMAS from AMASI.
He received international training in Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery at IRCAD, Strasbourg, France, and Robotic Surgery at World Laparoscopic Hospital, New Delhi. He has performed more than 2,500 laparoscopic and advanced GI surgeries and is widely respected for his expertise in obesity, reflux, and minimally invasive GI procedures.
