About Prof. (Dr.) Pawan Gupta

Prof. (Dr.) Pawan Gupta is a senior surgical oncologist with more than three decades of extensive experience in cancer surgery, with a special focus on head and neck oncology. He is presently serving as Senior Director of Surgical Oncology at Max Super Speciality Hospital, Vaishali, where he leads advanced cancer care programs. He has successfully performed over 11,000 cancer surgeries, establishing himself as one of the most trusted cancer surgeons in India. His clinical outcomes and leadership in cancer management have earned him national and international recognition. Over the years, he has worked with some of India’s most reputed institutions, including Dharamshila Cancer Foundation, Asian Hospital, SMH Curie Cancer Center, Jaypee Hospital, and Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences, apart from his current role at Max Healthcare.

His academic foundation includes an MBBS and MS from SCB Medical College, Cuttack, followed by an MCh in Surgical Oncology from Gujarat Cancer and Research Centre. He further refined his expertise through FRCS from Glasgow and advanced training at Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai. Beyond his clinical practice, Dr. Gupta is actively involved in cancer awareness and rehabilitation. As founder and president of organizations such as the ICanWin Foundation and ICanCaRe, he has pioneered tobacco cessation campaigns and public health education on cancer prevention.
