About Dr. Suman Bhandari

Dr. Suman Bhandari is a senior Consultant in Interventional Cardiology at Fortis Escorts Heart Institute, Okhla, New Delhi, with over 38 years of experience in the field of cardiology. He completed his MD (Medicine) from Rohtak in 1981 and DM (Cardiology) from AIIMS, New Delhi, in 1983. Dr. Bhandari has trained internationally in interventional cardiology at Rouen, France, and Leuven, Belgium, and has undertaken visiting fellowships at the Cleveland Clinic (USA) and Thorax-Centre (Netherlands). Throughout his career, he has performed more than 80,000 cardiac procedures, including angiographies, percutaneous coronary interventions (PTCA), and valvuloplasties, making him one of India’s most experienced interventional cardiologists.

Apart from his clinical expertise, Dr. Bhandari is a committed mentor and trainer, having guided numerous national and international fellows in interventional cardiology. He actively participates in cardiac research and has authored multiple papers in leading cardiology journals. His contributions to cardiac care extend beyond the hospital, as he engages in academic programs and professional forums to advance the practice of cardiology and improve patient outcomes across India.
