Dr. Purshotam Lal is a globally recognized Interventional Cardiologist and one of the most respected pioneers of cardiology in India. He is the Chairman of Metro Group of Hospitals and Director of Interventional Cardiology at Metro Heart Institute. Over 20,000 interventional cardiac procedures performed including angioplasties, valvuloplasties, and device closures.
First in the world to perform Aortic Valve Replacement with Core Valve without surgery (2004).
First in the world to perform Heart Hole (ASD) Closure using Monodisc Device (1992).
Developed the technique of Left Atrio Femoral Bypass support (Partial Artificial Heart) for high-risk cases (1990).
Introduced more than 20 interventional cardiology procedures in India including Diamond Drilling, Coronary Atherectomy, and Inoue Balloon Valvuloplasty.
