About Dr. Prithika Chary
Dr. Prithika Chary is the first and only woman in India qualified as both a Neurologist and a Neurosurgeon, making her a pioneering figure in Indian medicine. With over four decades of experience, she has provided specialized care in epileptology, stroke, dementia, Parkinson’s disease, speech disorders, developmental delays, and cognitive neurology. She is the Founder-Director of EPICENTTRE (Epilepsy Institute & Centre for Treatment, Training, Research & Education), dedicated to advancing epilepsy care and neurological awareness.
Alongside her clinical work, she has served as a teacher and mentor since 1974, training undergraduates, postgraduates, and paramedical staff in neurology and neurosurgery. Known for her patient-centered and compassionate approach, Dr. Chary has also been a public health advocate, leading awareness programs to educate communities about brain health and neurological disorders.
