About Dr. NP Gupta

Dr. Narmada Prasad Gupta is one of India’s most respected urologists, with a distinguished medical career spanning over 45 years in urology and andrology.
He currently holds the prestigious position of Professor Emeritus of Urology and Andrology at the Kidney and Urology Institute, Medanta – The Medicity, Gurugram.
Dr. Gupta has successfully performed over 30,000 urological surgeries, making him a leader in complex and advanced urologic procedures.
He is credited with introducing robotic surgery in urology in India in 2006, a breakthrough that revolutionized prostate and kidney surgeries.
As an academician, he has authored 6 authoritative books, contributed to 9 medical textbook chapters, and produced 18 educational surgical videos for urology training.
He has served as President of the Urological Society of India (USI) and the Urological Association of Asia, influencing policy and education at a global level.
Dr. Gupta is a recipient of the Padma Shri, one of India’s highest civilian honors, and the Dr. B.C. Roy National Award, recognizing his impact on Indian medicine.
He was formerly the Professor and Head of Urology at AIIMS, New Delhi, where he led innovations in endourology, andrology, and urinary reconstruction.
